Tiki culture is something I never experienced. I was born in the 90s and the closest I've been to experiencing the authentic thing is at Disney World's Enchanted Tiki Room and Polynesian Resort. Despite never living through the rise and height of its popularity, there's just something that strikes me about the nostalgia of it.

While some may view it as appropriation or offensive in ways, I believe it reflects more on a time period where there was mystery about far away lands to the average American. The world was not yet globalized like we know it today and it left a lot to the imagination. Beautiful women, delicious drinks, relaxing vibes... it's all just so GOOD.

I suggest learning more about the development and overall story of Tiki culture by checking out the Wikipedia page, which can help shed a little light on this magical movement in a period of the past.
